Legacy In the Making
The Franklin High School Alumni Association of Somerset, NJ (FHSAAS) is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to support and connect alumni. FHSAAS has no affiliation with and operates separately from Franklin High School and the Franklin Township Public Schools. This Association was established by the Class of 1984’s 40th Reunion Committee and its foundation is rooted in the dedicated work of alumni who began building connections and organizing alumni efforts as early as the 2000s.
Grounded in Gratitude, Rooted in Resilience
The Franklin High School Alumni Association of Somerset, NJ exists to unite generations of Franklin High School graduates through connection, and service, while building on prior works with gratitude, commitment and stability. FHAAS was built upon the faithful works of early alumni and carried forward by the vision of the Class of 1984’s 40th Reunion Committee.
In 1999, previous Alumni members laid important groundwork to preserve relationships, build community, and keep the spirit of FHS alumni engagement alive. These efforts planted seeds that, over time, caught fire in the minds of the Class of 1984 40th Reunion Committee. The reunion committee expanded and formalized this work to create a lasting, alumni-led organization. What begins as grassroots alumni engagement will grow into a unified Association committed to honoring the past, serving the present, and strengthening the future as an alumni community.

In its inaugural year, 2024-2025, the Franklin High School Alumni Association successfully established a governing board and achieved its 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, laying a strong foundation for future growth and community impact. Building on this momentum, 2026 marks an exciting chapter as the Association expands its reach by inviting alumni members, current students, local organizations, and businesses to join in its mission. With these partnerships, the Association aims to develop engaging alumni activities ranging from networking events and mentorship programs to community service initiatives and scholarship. These efforts create meaningful opportunities for alumni to reconnect, support one another, share their expertise, and reach back to bring others forwards. By cultivating this active, interconnected network, the Association envisions long-term successes which increases alumni engagement, support for educational programs, recognition of alumni achievements, and the creation of enduring traditions that celebrate the legacy of Franklin High School Alumni.

Since 1963, over 13,000 students have proudly graduated from Franklin High School, each carrying forward a legacy of excellence, resilience, and community connectedness.
With each graduation class, the alumni network grows stronger, adding voices, stories, and contributions that make a lasting impact in Franklin Township, Somerset, NJ, across the country, and around the world. Together, we are building a powerful legacy that uplifts current students, connects generations, and inspires future leaders.
